Privacy Policy
Effective 8 September 2026. Applies to the MODBOD iPhone app and this website, operated by DPM Solutions, LLC.
The short version: what you report about your body stays on your phone. An account stores your email address so a new phone can find it again, and in this beta nothing else leaves the phone. Nothing is sold, shared for marketing, or used to track you.
What MODBOD is
MODBOD is general fitness and wellness software. It plans strength sessions and adapts them. It does not diagnose, treat, or rehabilitate anything, and it is not a medical device. It never asks for a condition, a diagnosis, or an injury history, and it has no free-text field for describing a symptom.
What stays on your phone
Everything you report about how your body feels stays on the device. That includes:
- Pain, soreness, and discomfort you report before or during a session, including the body area and how severe it felt.
- Recovery check-ins and the body map's view of what is still recovering.
- Areas you ask the app to be careful with, and limits a professional has asked you to keep.
The server is built to refuse this data. The database tables that would hold it have no path an app can write to, and a test in our build fails if anyone adds one.
What an account stores
You can use MODBOD without an account. Until you create one, nothing leaves your phone. When you create an account, we store your email address and a random account identifier, so that a reinstall or a new phone can find your account again.
The account is built to carry your training record as well, so a new phone can bring your history back. That record is limited to what you did in the gym:
- Each session's start and end time, planned duration, the energy level you reported at check-in, whether a return-after-a-break adjustment applied, and how the session ended.
- The exercises in each session and the sets you logged: prescribed and actual load, reps, effort, rest, and side.
- Exercise substitutions you made and the reason you chose from the list.
- A record of the recommendations the app made to you, kept as an audit trail.
In the current beta the upload of that record is not switched on. Your training record stays on the phone, and only the account itself is stored. When the upload is switched on, this page will say so and the effective date above will move.
Account data is stored with Supabase on Amazon Web Services in Oregon, United States, and access is limited to your own account. Account emails, such as confirmation and password reset, are sent through Resend.
Testing through TestFlight
During the beta, Apple's TestFlight collects crash logs and basic usage under Apple's terms and shows them to us. Feedback you send through TestFlight, including screenshots, reaches us as well.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no advertising or analytics software in the app.
- No selling of your data, and no sharing of it for marketing.
- No tracking across apps or websites.
- No access to Apple Health in this version.
Your choices
- Export. Settings exports everything MODBOD holds about you as one file.
- Delete. Settings deletes everything on the phone and, if you are signed in, whatever the server holds for your account. The app tells you if the server did not confirm.
- Sign out. Signing out detaches the phone from the account. Your data on the phone stays yours.
- Ask. Write to hello@modbod.app for a copy of your account data or to have it removed.
Age
MODBOD is for people 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe we have, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes
When the app changes what it collects, this page changes with it, and the effective date above moves. The beta description in TestFlight points here.
